Absence and Punctuality

If your child is ill, you should contact the School Office (0113-2551601) or the Early Years Office (0113-2574178) for Nursery and Reception children before 9:15am. Any absence that is not notified could be passed onto the Attendance Welfare Officer or Leeds Children Services to follow up. If you are unsure how long your child may be off school, please contact us daily. Please also remember, if your child is absent due to sickness and/or diarrhoea, they must not  return to school until 48 hours after their last incident.

If your child is not in school and we have no notification by 9:15am our policy and procedures are as follows:

Step 1 - A phone call to primary carer

Step 2 - Contact other emergency contacts

Step 3 - Home Visit

Step 4 - Risk Assessment and possible referral onto other agencies.

It is very important that children arrive at school on time as learning sessions begin promptly at 8:45am for KS1 & KS2  and 8:50am for Reception. Children arriving at school after 8:45am will be recorded as late and this will be monitored during the year. The school monitors pupils attendance with the Attendance Welfare Officer each half term. Good attendance is 95% and above and the school monitors any pupil's attendance which falls below this figure.
