Farsley Westroyd Primary School & Nursery

What a delightful bunch!

Happy smiling faces. Proud to be Westroyders!

I felt like the Pied Piper of Hamlyn last week, as I walked through school asking if anyone fancied being in a photo to celebrate our Ofsted report being published.  The children were hot on my heels to participate. If you have not seen our article yet in the West Leeds Dispatch, do have a look! We actually have two articles in the paper and in the local "Squealer". The second is a beautifully written piece by Morgun's Dad about our school's heritage and strong community links!

I do hope you have all had a lovely break together as a family. We all lead such busy lives. It is important to plan for some downtime, together and to recharge the batteries! As someone who always has active holidays, I was inspired by a pupil in Y4's grandma, to have a complete rest this holiday. So my youngest and I had a "fly and flop" holiday to Lanzarote! Didn't totally manage the flop bit as I had to sneak in a little run each morning, and participate in quite a few activities in the hotel, but we certainly managed lots of chill time and fun times!  As I say to the staff at this school. You only live once, so it is best to enjoy it when you can!

It is a good job we have all had time to recharge, as we have a really busy half-term coming up! A calendar full of exciting, fun events and I know that Mr Fawcett has some other things up his sleeve that he has not shared with me just yet! All the dates are in the latest newsletter, which is on our website, and Mrs Hollingshead will continue to send out the weekly what is on as a reminder.

I know you may all be speculating who your child's next teacher will be. What I can say is that as the teacher's resignation deadline has now passed, we are not expecting anything to change with our teaching staff, other than the news already shared about Miss Harps' relocation closer to home and that Miss Maybank will return from her maternity leave in September.  I am pleased and not surprised that no one else is moving on. The children are so lucky. We have such a strong teaching team, who work collaboratively and all get along brilliantly. Like our children, the staff are all quite unique, with strong personalities and it is an awful lot of fun working with them!

So let's enjoy Summer Term Two at Farsley Westroyd! Bring it on, as Mr Clough always says!
