Friends of Westroyd

Welcome to the Friends of Westroyd

We are an active group of parents that meet regulary for coffee mornings and sometimes evening drinks! It is a social network for parents and carers. We share ideas on how to raise funds for the School and Nursery. Money raised by the Friends has been used to purchase chairs for the computer suite, outside shelters and new PE equipment.

Over the last few years Westroyd School has had an amazing team of people running the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) also known as Friends of Westroyd. Last year we lost many dedicated people who have been involved in the past. As we move forward, with a new team of parents whose children will stay in Westroyd through to Year 6, we are now looking for a fresh tea of individuals and enthusiastic volunteers who would be willing to lead the PTA team.

The School PTA is run by volunteers. They organise fundraising events for the school which are fun for all the family. The Christmas and Summer Fairs, The Spring Ball, Movie Nights, the sale of Christmas cards and school tea towels are just a few things that have been arranged by the PTA in the recent past. The money raised by the PTA has helped fund Ipads in the class, equipment for the outside play, class cameras, subsidising school trips and other benefits to our children that cannot be covered by the school budget.

If you would like to help these events run through the year and would like to be involved in fundraising for the school then we would love you to join the team.

We need:

  • Volunteers for events – thank you to everyone who offers to volunteer at events through the year, we really couldn’t do them without you. Watch out for new events coming up, and please let us know when you can help.
  • New members of the PTA representing all the year groups in the school – this will be a smaller group of volunteers who are able to attend meetings, share new ideas and help lead events.
  • A new Leader – We have come to recognise that the PTA needs a leader; someone able to be the spokesperson between the PTA and the school, who is able to delegate tasks and organise meetings with the PTA members.

If you would like to join the PTA then please contact

Also come along to meet the existing team and get to know more about what the PTA do and how you might be able to get involved.

Thank you on behalf of the Friends of Westroyd Team.

We would love to meet you!
