Introducing our new ‘Things to do before you go!’
At Farsley Westroyd Primary School and Nursery, we are commited to ensuring that every child has the best primary education possible. After all the children only get one go at it primary school their lifetime! Our knowledge based curriculum meets all statutory expectations and is implemented to ensure that the children progressively build knowledge over their time with us from Nursery to Y6. At Farsley Westroyd we intend to go over and above the curriculum with our new “Things to do before you go” initiative. On top of all that knowledge the children build, in lessons, we want to ensure that the children really, really enjoy school and are developing the personal and life skills to ensure that they will not only be successful, with us, in their next stage of education, but also make a positive contribution in society.
Therefore the teachers have completed an enjoyable task based on our school values, ENJOY, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE, TOGETHER and created a task list of activities, visits, visitors and experiences which every child in their class will experience within their year in their class!
Many of the activities are based around our school, local area and help develop cultural capital and an appreciation of each other, our local community and context. As a very inclusive school, there are no barriers, and we continue to celebrate our own individual identities and respect others.
These experiences are just some of the amazing things we do at Farsley Westroyd and this is not an exhaustive list– it’s just some of the best and most exciting!
We will be sharing the poster in class and it will be available on our website. When we send out our curriculum information each half term we will also include what we will be achieving from the list.
Have a look and see what you think! What is your child most looking forward to completing?
