At Farsley Westroyd, the curriculum is carefully planned to ensure that from the child's point of entry, every child makes strong progress working towards the high expectations that we set for them. Our curriculum provides strong foundational knowledge and ensures our children have the executive functioning skills to prepare them for future learning in KS1 and KS2. The planned curriculum is progressive, with end point measures in Nursery and Reception and builds throughout the children's time in Foundation Stage and then on into KS1. At Westroyd, our curriculum is delivered through a balance of direct teaching, guided learning and self-initiative learning by specialist Early Years practitioners. We respond to our ongoing assessments through our teaching and provision to ensure that by the end of Reception the children achieve a good level of development as a minimum.
