Welcome to Nursery!

Each week we'll be keeping you up to date with our weekly blog. In addition to this, please read our half-termly curriculum map to find out what will be happening in nursery. 

Important information

Please keep checking Tapestry to find your child's observations and information about their key worker. 

Nursery doors open at 8:55am. If you are coming into the school grounds earlier, please do not use any of the resources or equipment that have been set up. It is important our outside area is ready for a day of learning. 

Books

You will be able to change your love of reading book from our lending library basket every Wednesday. The basket will be available at pick up and drop off for you to choose and swap your books ready to enjoy and share at home. If your child accesses our wraparound, we will support them to choose a book to bring home. 

 

 

Autumn 1

Week 6

We have introduced the text of Rosie's walk this week, learning the words and the talk 4 writing actions! We have created a story map and used this to help us remember the sequence of the story. The children have learnt about the harvest festival. Thank you for your kind donations! The children completed 15 laps on the Welly walk, we had so much fun! Well Done Nursery!

Week 5

An exciting week learning all about babies. We have introduced two new babies into our home corner 'Louise and Alfie'. The nursery children have been taking care of them, feeding them, washing them and making sure they have enough sleep. We even had a visit from Mrs Hollingshead and her beautiful baby Lola! As a new season approaches, we have been talking about all things Autumn. The children noticed that the weather was beginning to change. They enjoyed an Autumn walk around the early year's playground. They found lots of Autumn things and noticed that the leaves had begun to fall from the trees.

Week 4

This week in nursery we enjoyed learning the poem 'Cup of tea'. The children did fantastic at reciting the words and joining in with the actions! We have been colour mixing, learning that two colours mixed together can make another colour! After enjoying the story 'Big and Small' by Elizabeth Bennett we have been exploring different sized blocks in the construction area, using mathematical language: big, bigger, small and smaller.

Week 3

We are so proud of all the nursery children starting their full sessions this week. What fun we have had in nursery! We have really been getting to know each other and learning our new nursery routines. In maths, we have been learning about prime colours and have been collecting objects. We have been enjoying reading the story 'The Colour Monster' and talking about different feelings!

Week 2

It's been fantastic to welcome new and existing children into nursery this week. We have done a fantastic job at settling in to routines and have explored the different nursery areas!

Week 1

It's been lovely to meet all our new nursery children this week during home visits. We look forward to welcoming new and existing children back to nursery next week.
