It is the policy of the governing body that Westroyd adapt a simple school uniform. We expect all children to be smartly presented and that clothing, shoes and haircuts are appropriate for the age of the child.
The uniform consists of Black or Grey trousers/skirt/pinafore, white shirt or polo shirt and a red sweatshirt or cardigan. During the summer months Black or grey shorts, red and white checked school dress, white polo shirt and a sun hat.
Uniform does not need to have the school logo. We also ask that hair accessories are discreet and in school colours only.
Please note: All clothing should be name labelled. Please ensure that children wear sensible footwear whilst at school- no high heels, crocs or flip flops.
Children need to wear black shorts, black leggings or black jogging bottoms and a red T-shirt. They may choose to wear a red hoodie or just their usual red school jumper or cardigan. Children will do dance and gymnastics in bare feet and we ask that children wear white or black trainers for outdoor PE. Long hair should be tied back. On PE days, children are to come dressed in their PE kits. To promote equality we ask that children do not come in overly branded sports kit.
For health and safety reasons, children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school. Children with pierced ears may wear stud earrings only. These must be removed by parents on PE days. Staff are not permitted to remove earrings.
In year 4, children will go swimming as part of their PE curriculum. They will need a one piece swimming costume or skin hugging jammers. Loose beach shorts are not advisable as they make swimming much harder.
