Westroyd Vision

FARSLEY WESTROYD VISION

Farsley Westroyd Primary School and Nursery is a small, nurturing, friendly, child centred, community school at the heart of Farsley village in West Leeds.  We have a strong historical heritage and are proud of our role in the history of the local community and the strong local links that we continue to promote. At Westroyd we are a large family and we all have a role to play in ensuring we are all safe, we all achieve and we enjoy our time in school.  Pupils are proud to be Westroyd pupils and there is a strong sense of belonging to our family and learning together. Throughout their time with us, the children are encouraged to explore their own uniqueness and be confident and proud of who they are, which in turn promotes mutual respect. At Westroyd we care and support each other without exception, celebrating our  diversity and capitalising upon the opportunity to learn from each others strengths.  We always believe, at Westroyd that we will be successful and we do not let barriers or excuses get in the way of having fun and achieving. When we are we successful, we certainly enjoy standing out, shining our light and enjoying the moment.

Curriculum Intent at Farsley Westroyd Primary School and Nursery

At Farsley Westroyd Primary School and Nursery our whole school curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning, where each child thoroughly enjoys coming to school, knows how to learn and feels empowered to believe in their own potential. We create an inclusive caring environment that nurtures achievement for all, ensuring every learner can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. By working together, we foster a strong sense of community, encouraging collaboration and shared successes in our learning. We are proud to belong to the Westroyd family and celebrate our achievements boldly. Our aim is for all students to leave as self-assured, confident young people, who not only have the skills and attitude needed to thrive in an ever-changing world but can also make a positive contribution to society both far and wide.
