At Farsley Westroyd Primary School and Nursery, we break down the National Curriculum for each year group and teach the knowledge and skills at the age related expectation in each subject. Each class has a new unit of learning each half- term. Sometimes there is a thematic link between the knowledge in subjects, but at other times subjects are taught as a stand alone. There is a driver subject each half term, which hooks the children into the learning well. We often hold theme days, in house experiences and excursions. In addition to this we hold topic days or weeks, which have a key focus across school and early years.
Each term, we invite parents and carers to ' Walk The Walls ', this gives the children the opportunity to show their learning and we hold sharing assemblies for parents.
