In March 2013 the Government announced that they would introduce a dedicated PE & Sport Premium that would go directly to Primary School Headteachers, so they could decide how best to use it to provide sporting activities for pupils.
Schools can choose how they use the funding examples are:
* Hire specialist PE Teachers or qualified Sports Coaches to work with Primary Teachers during PE lessons.
* Support Children by offering after School Sports Clubs.
* Provide resources and training courses in PE for Teachers.
* Run sports activities with other Schools.
Since Sept 2013 OFSTED Inspections have reported on PE and Sport provision and how Schools spend their additional funding.
